Data controller
The controller of your personal data is JUDr. Jan Lajsek, the son of the painter Oldřich Lajsek. His correspondence is handled by his son V. Lajsek, e-mail v.lajsek@seznam.cz.
What data we process
When you write to us through the contact form, we store your name, e-mail address, the text of your message and the time it was sent. The website collects no other personal data – it has no registration, newsletter or online payments.
Like any web server, the server running this website briefly logs technical details of each visit (IP address, time, page visited, browser type). These are used only for security and troubleshooting.
Purpose and legal basis
We use the data from the form only to reply to your question or enquiry about a painting and, where relevant, to arrange its purchase. The legal basis is steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); for general questions it is our legitimate interest in replying (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We therefore do not ask for your consent.
Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running the website securely. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising or automated decision-making.
How long we keep data
Messages from the form are kept for no longer than 2 years after they were sent and are then deleted. If a painting is purchased, we keep the necessary details for as long as the law requires. Server logs are deleted on a rolling basis.
Who receives the data
Messages are stored in the website database and only the artist's family, who answer enquiries, have access to them. They are technically held by the hosting provider Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany) on a server in the European Union. We do not pass data to anyone else unless required by law.
We do not transfer data outside the European Union. Fonts and all other files of this website are served from our own server, not by third parties.
Cookies
The website uses only strictly necessary technical cookies without which it would not work. By law these do not require consent, so the website shows no cookie banner. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
csrftoken – protects the contact form against misuse; valid for 7 days.
messages – a short system notice (e.g. confirming an action); set only when the website shows such a notice and deleted as soon as it is displayed.
sessionid – keeps the site administrator logged in; valid for 12 hours. It is never set for ordinary visitors.
You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings, but the contact form may then not work.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing and to data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Just write to v.lajsek@seznam.cz; we will reply without undue delay and within one month at the latest.
If you believe we handle your data unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7, www.uoou.gov.cz).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when the website starts using a new tool. The current version is always on this page. Effective from 25 October 2026.
